our story
Happy Hearts Yoga was born from a simple desire: to find an activity that truly suited my daughter, Raffaella.
Like many parents, I wanted her to have opportunities to move, learn, and make friends, but I quickly realised that not every activity was the right fit. Some environments felt overwhelming, and I found myself searching for something that would nurture her confidence, creativity, and wellbeing in a calmer, more supportive way.
Through that journey, I discovered children’s yoga and fell in love with the positive impact it can have on a child’s physical, emotional, and social development. I saw how movement, mindfulness, breathing exercises, and imaginative play could help children feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to themselves and the world around them.
Before starting Happy Hearts Yoga, I spent several years as an RAF Air Cadets Civilian Instructor, serving as a Section Commander within a school CCF unit. In that role, I had the privilege of supporting and mentoring young people through leadership, teamwork, wellbeing, and personal development. Those experiences deepened my passion for helping children and young people build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self.
Inspired by both my professional experience and my journey as a parent, I decided to train as a children’s yoga teacher and create the kind of classes I had been searching for myself.
At Happy Hearts Yoga, my aim is simple: to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where children can move, explore, relax, and grow at their own pace. Every session is designed to encourage confidence, emotional wellbeing, creativity, mindfulness, and fun, helping little hearts feel calm, capable, and connected.
Because every child deserves a place where they can simply be themselves.

Helping little hearts feel calm, confident & connected
Happy Hearts Yoga delivers children’s yoga, mindfulness and wellbeing sessions for nurseries, schools, community groups and families across North Yorkshire.
We create fun, nurturing, and mindful experiences that support children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence, and self-expression. Through movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and imaginative play, our sessions encourage children to slow down, connect with themselves, and develop important skills in a positive and supportive environment.
Designed for toddlers through to Year 6, children’s yoga can support balance, coordination, concentration, emotional regulation, confidence and relaxation. Through movement, breathing exercises and mindfulness activities, children develop skills that support both physical wellbeing and emotional development.
At Happy Hearts Yoga, we believe every child deserves a safe space to move, grow, and shine at their own pace.
Happy Hearts Yoga offers a nurturing space where children flourish through joyful movement and mindful practices.
